London Makers by HF MENCAP

A creative studio where ideas become something real.

London Makers brings people with learning disabilities and neurodivergent people together with artists, designers and makers to explore ideas, develop new skills and create original work.

Together, we turn creativity into work that can be shared, showcased and sold beyond the studio.

The Programme

London Makers is a creative programme from HF Mencap, built around artist-led courses and accessible studio sessions. Makers explore areas of art & design, developing ideas into original work to be shared, showcased and sold.

Our Makers

London Makers is for people with learning disabilities and neurodivergent people, with opportunities for both young people (16+) and adults. No previous creative experience is needed. We support different ways of participation, so everyone can contribute in a way that works for them.

The Studio

Our studio is a space to experiment, design and produce. Makers have access to digital and hands-on creative tools from iPads, print and heat-press equipment to 3D printing, textiles and specialist making equipment. Opening up different ways to turn ideas into something real.

Creative Collaboration

We work with artists, designers and creative practitioners to bring professional creative practice into the London Makers studio. Our makers work alongside them to discover new techniques, develop ideas and create original work together, connecting the studio with London's wider creative community.
